SRX Serving Call Session Control Function (S-CSCF)

The Sonus Networks SRX™ S-CSCF is based on the industry-standard Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and provides high-performance, scalable and reliable session control for voice, video, messaging, presence, location, push-to-talk over cellular and other next generation services.

SRX serves as the SIP registrar for IMS subscribers. It is a high performance SIP router that retrieves user profile information from the Home Subscriber Server (HSS) and coordinates sessions with one or more application servers used to deliver service.
